Olympus has announced its first Micro Four Thirds camera named Olympus Pen E-P1. The Olympus Pen E-1 is expected to be released in July. There are going to be three different price points for this camera.

• $749 for just the body.

• $799 with the 14-42mm lens

• $899 with the 17mm pancake lens and viewfinder

The new Palm Pre will be released be released exclusively for Sprint on June 6.    Best Buy, Radio Shack, and some Walmart stores will be carrying this phone for $200  with a 2 year agreement and an $100 mail-in rebate.  If you don’t have a contract with Sprint and want to get the Palm Pre, there’s good news for you.  In about six months Verizon Wireless will begin to sell this phone also.

1. Just got my 1470 today also, had no problem on start up, just be sure you are outside in plain view of sky on fist power up. Magellan found sats in less then 2 minutes, and seems to find them even quicker now. Great unit for the $$$, can’t use traffic in my area but will when we travel. Screen is great looking and easy on the Old eyes. Bracket is different then my 4350 (Darn) but looks to be strong, again I love the 4.7 screen and the richness of color, took a short trip to store and all was good, can’t wait to go out side of town, looks as good if not better then my 4350 which I’ll give to the wife or sell or a back up. Be sure to get an Ac power adapter also, for quick charge. All for now gots to play with new toy more….. Randall
2. I just received this and have traveled about 1000 miles with it on a road trip. Firstly, the actual maps and navigation prompts have been very good. I also have a Nuvi and although I like my Nuvi, this GPS model does have some advantages. The highway assists are excellent and the audible tone at turns are very good as well. The graphics are very easy on the eyes. The one touch feature is very cool! Basically, a shortcut icon that can potentially save you a lot time if you find yourself typing in the same POI constantly (Starbucks anyone?). Adding routes are easy and a nice feature that my Nuvi does not support. The unit is also very sleek and fairly portable for such a large screen.
   Now for the cons. I prefer Garmin’s approach to charging the unit with the cradle attachment automatically. With this model, you have to MANUALLY plug in the charging cable. Doesn’t sound like much but it does make it more difficult attaching and removing the unit from the cradle. Sometimes the unit is inexplicably slow and does not respond to the touch prompts. Not so annoying but it happens occasionally. The sound quality is somewhat “tinny” and not that great but not a deal breaker for the price. Battery life is fairly short at 2-3 hours but most people will have it attached to the charging cable anyway.
   Overall, I would recommend this unit wholeheartly if you can deal with the manually attaching the charging cable
